Bermuda Yacht

ÜberVida is a 70′ Long 25′ Wide custom built fiber glass catamaran, she was built in the 1960’s in Plymouth England, as one of the worlds most expensive and beautiful luxury sailing yachts. The yacht was commissioned by a British Lord (name unknown) who was in great fear of a nuclear Holocaust and so created a custom vessel to take him and his family out to sea for months while the radiation from the missiles dissipated. The yacht was made to be a super stable ocean going vessel.

In 1995 Hurricane Luis struck St. Martin and the yacht broke off its moorings and was wrecked. She was salvaged and unceremoniously dumped in a Boat yard on the French Side and left there to rot.

When Denis Owen was 7 years old his entire family went on a full day snorkeling adventure to Eastern Blue Cut and had “The BEST DAY EVER” snorkeling, relaxing and bonding as a family. This experience so imprinted on him that he just wanted to experience that day again.

I wanted to share that piece of Bermuda MAGIC with other people.

After years of working as a local boat captain Denis began searching for the perfect vessel and discovered ÜberVida.  “When I found ÜberVida in that boat yard in St. Martin it was a MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I acquired it and spent the next 2 years rebuilding and fixing her to get into seaworthy shape to survive the 800 mile journey to Bermuda.”

5 years later UberVida is making biweekly FULL day excursions to Bermuda’s North Barrier Reef!!! “Eastern Blue Cut”, as well as the Famous Sun Set Mini Cocktail Cruises, Weekly Champagne Brunch, and Sun Set Dinner Cruises.  Not to mention being in extremely high demand as a private charter yacht.

Book now and see why ÜberVida has won the “Best of Bermuda GOLD Award” for 2 years in a row 2012 and 2013.
