Paradise Lakes is part of Bermuda’s Great Sound, because the Great Sound is surrounded on all sides by the islands of Bermuda it creates a very smooth sailing atmosphere. The Lakes are surrounded by picturesque islands and are home to a variety of birds, turtles and other amazing marine life. Not to mention Million Dollar summer homes.
Like many locations in Bermuda Paradise Lake is surrounded by historic landmarks; for example, Long Island is one such island where the Prisoners of Boer War were kept during 1901 & 1902. Around 1,100 army personnel were shipped out from South Africa during this time and were kept isolated in this island. The prisoners included even some Generals of the Boer Army.
